OPERATOR NOTE. Source: INEGI Marco Geoestadistico 2024 (published 2024-11-26), national integrated set mg_2024_integrado.zip, layer 00ent. Retrieved 2026-08-13 by HTTP range-read of the central directory of the 3.33 GB national archive (only the 284 MB integrated member was pulled). Kept CVEGEO, CVE_ENT, NOMGEO; reprojected EPSG:6372 (Mexico ITRF2008 / LCC) -> EPSG:4326. 4 RFC7946 GeometryCollection artifacts coerced to MultiPolygon per decision 0020 (0 features dropped, 0 area lost). NOT simplified. DERIVED COLUMN: NOM_CORTO. INEGI's NOMGEO carries the constitutional long form for 3 states (Coahuila de Zaragoza, Michoacan de Ocampo, Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave); NOM_CORTO carries the short form used by nearly all Mexican statistical tables, and is identical to NOMGEO for the other 29. Adding it took the real production join-test against the acceptance file from 29/32 (91%) to 32/32 (100%). NOMGEO is preserved unaltered. Published by the nightly boundary-miss resolver for buckets admin:mexico:state:: and admin:mexico:municipality::; the acceptance file could not close the miss (unsupported_grain - a 24-year panel), so this is published_unverified. Areas validated against official INEGI figures: every state within 0.7%, national total 1,966,703 km2 vs official 1,960,189 km2 (+0.33%).
