Territorial units (Teritoriālās vienības: pagasti, pilsētas un valstspilsētas) (Latvia, 2026-01-01)
Territorial units (Teritoriālās vienības: pagasti, pilsētas un valstspilsētas) of the Latvia, 2026-01-01. STATISTICS-DOMAIN seed-prep (2026-09-23) for the CSP PxWeb population product (reference date 1 January 2026): the product keys 592 units = 585 sub-municipal territorial units (511 pagasti + 71 novada pilsētas + the 3 valstspilsētas that sit INSIDE a novads: Jēkabpils 0031010, Ogre 0040010, Valmiera 0054010) + the 7 valstspilsētas that are their own municipality (Rīga 0001000 … Ventspils 0007000). ONE SOURCE, ONE LAYER carries all 592: the CSP shapefile has exactly 592 rows (l1_type 1 = 7, 6 = 74, 7 = 511) — the 7 state cities are NOT taken from another level; they are rows whose L1_code = L0_code. CODE SET: 592/592 equal to the provider's 2026 enumeration, 0 missing, 0 extra, 0 duplicates, 0 nulls; parent_atvk equals the enumeration's parent_novads on all 585 and the parent set equals the 42-novads enumeration; unit populations summed by nuts3 reproduce all 5 region totals (1,845,096 national). NAMES: 588/592 exact; the 4 "disagreements" are the enumeration disambiguating duplicate parish names with a "(parent novads)" suffix — Pilskalnes pagasts (0020500 Aizkraukles / 0022550 Augšdaugavas) and Salas pagasts (0031550 Jēkabpils / 0039420 Mārupes); the file gives the bare name, so prefix-match is 592/592. The CSP file uses full words ("pagasts"), unlike VZD's "pag."/"nov." abbreviations. VINTAGE: the file is dated 2026.01.01 = the product's reference date exactly; the CURRENT VZD register (full resolution, CC-BY) was rejected because it already carries the 2026-08-22 Carnikava town split (593 codes) — see evidence.candidates_rejected. GENERALISATION: 1:1,200,000 (A3), disclosed; the smallest town (Durbe) is an 8-vertex polygon. That is the resolution the CSP itself publishes for thematic maps of this product; interchange geojson 1.07 MB, no further simplification. CRS: EPSG:3059 (LKS-92/TM) declared in .prj, reprojected by geo-convert to EPSG:4326; .cpg UTF-8, no encoding override.
