Ranking Industrial Competitiveness Worldwide
Here is how 150 economies worldwide ranked in UNIDOs Competitive Industrial Performance Index, which measures manufacturing sectors along three dimensions: (1) capacity to produce and export manufactured goods, (2) technological deepening and upgrading, and (3) world impact.
The map shows both the score from 0-1 per country (higher score indicating higher competitiveness) as well as the country ranking in 2021.

- Germany
- China
- Ireland
- Republic of Korea
- United States

Notably, the CIP Index currently focuses only on economic competitiveness, with UNIDO working towards incorporating social and environmental impacts into broader measures of industrial performance.
