Built from INDEC's 2022 census cartography (the geography the Censo 2022 was enumerated in); unit names from IGN. Provinces are the union of their census fractions. Covers Argentina's undisputed territory only: the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and the Antarctic sector claimed by Argentina are not included. The province of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur is therefore drawn as its three departments in Tierra del Fuego (Río Grande, Tolhuin, Ushuaia). One stretch of the Argentina–Chile border is undemarcated: the Southern Patagonian Ice Field (Campo de Hielo Patagónico Sur) between Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Daudet, in the department of Lago Argentino, province of Santa Cruz. It is drawn on INDEC's line, which is Argentina's position and not an agreed international boundary. Join on prov_code, the 2-digit INDEC code.
INDEC census radios (datos.gob.ar, Radios Censo 2022) nest exactly into INDEC census fractions (Fracciones Censo 2022); fractions were dissolved to departments on the first five digits of the INDEC code, and departments to provinces on the first two. Units in departments 94021 (Islas del Atlántico Sur) and 94028 (Antártida Argentina) were excluded before dissolving. Area of each dissolved unit equals the sum of its parts. Names joined from IGN's province layer by code. Not simplified.
