EU Unemployment Rate November 2023

EU unemployment rate stood at 5.9% in November 2023 equalling record low from May 23, as per Eurostat data released on 9. January 2024.

Compared to November 2022, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points from 6.1% for the EU27 countries combined.

The Euro area (20 countries with the Euro as currency) saw a reduction in unemployment from 6.7% to 6.4% over the same period.

Several countries experienced a decrease in unemployment rates, notably Greece (from 11.9% to 9.4%), Spain (from 12.9% to 11.9%), and Italy (from 7.9% to 7.5%). Conversely, some countries saw an increase in their unemployment rates, such as Finland (from 6.7% to 7.6%), Sweden (from 7.2% to 7.9%), and Estonia (from 5.4% to 6.1%).
