Global Economic Outlook From 2024-2026 by Country
There is widespread uncertainty about the economic outlook for 2024 and beyond, so I wanted to start a mini project gathering all of the pertinent data and projections. Starting right at the top, I downloaded the global Real GDP growth projections from the IMF and made this visualisation.
Insights:
Growth is looking somewhat anaemic across much of Europe next year at 0.6%, a mild slowdown from 2023. It is projected to pick back up in again through 2025-26.
The same pattern can be observed in the USA, but with growth rates expected to be slightly higher and not dipping beneath 1.5%.
Inflation is expected to continue declining from its peak last year, before normalising somewhere in 2025, dampening growth through the period. I'll try and find the inflation projections also.
Out of the G20, India, Indonesia and China are expected to lead the way with 6.1%, 5.2% and 4.7% respectively.
